Synopsis:
- Icicle is finding the situation of being forced to work alongside heroes to be rather unpleasant and unsettling. The 'new JSA' explains to him and Sand that the Ultra-Humanite is primarily controlling a group of telepaths, and through them and a neural device called a braincap, has the most physically powerful beings on the planet under his control as the 'Thunderfront' - but these can be defeated, as although the Humanite can use their powers, he does not have access to their skill or experience. The small group of rebels is on its way to free the telepaths. Meanwhile, the Ultra-Humanite tortures Sentinel and Wildcat, trying to get each of them to bend to his will without the need for braincaps; Wildcat plans his escape along with Hector Hall.
- When the rebels reach the telepaths, they find themselves confronted by a large number of the Thunderfront, including members of the JLA and the Titans.
