HISTORY

The creature called Moose resembles an Earth elephant, with tusks on either end of its body, but not attached to a discernable head or heads. Its real name unpronounceable, the Sinestro Corps ring chose “Moose” as the closest approximation. Moose is a Trogkian mammoth, once part of a massive pack. Their stampedes would terrorize the primitive world of Trogk. The story behind Moose’s induction, and the fate of his pack, has yet to be revealed.

Moose was one of thousands on Qward during the capture of Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, and his separation from the Ion entity. Parallax was then able to graft himself onto Rayner. Even though the Green Lanterns sent to rescue Ion were massively outnumbered, they were able to free the willpower entity, though Parallax still held onto Kyle Rayner. - Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special #1, Green Lantern Vol. 4 22 - 23

Moose was part of the massive invasion of Earth, initially attacking the Justice League satellite then battling Green Lanterns. The Sinestro Corps was ultimately defeated by the Green Lantern Corps, and Sinestro was captured. The Anti-Monitor, Superboy-Prime, and the Cyborg Superman were believed to be dead and/or run off planet. Sinestro Corps: Cyborg Superman #1, Green Lantern Vol. 4 24 - 25

Moose was most recently part of an ambush upon the Green Lantern Corps. A number of Green Lanterns were bringing Sinestro back to his homeworld of Korugar for execution. The Sinestro Corps attempted to free their leader, but was attacked in turn by the Red Lantern Corps who wanted to kill Sinestro themselves. The fate of Moose has yet to be revealed. - Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns #1

“Moose” is named for colorist Moose Baumann, though in a podcast interview, Ethan Van Sciver wanted the name to be a three letter name, ending in “or”.
