Synopsis: - Zauriel arrives in heaven to find the angelic hosts are preparing for a new creation, not believing that mankind will win against Mageddon. However, he is allowed to return to Earth once more as a mortal, and is joined by a large number of other angels.
- Batman and Martian Manhunter give Superman support in the heart of Mageddon, as Green Lantern wrests back control of his ring. Meanwhile, on Easter Island, Wonder Woman and Steel put Animal Man's plan to release mankind's evolutionary potential into practice with the help of Blue Beetle and Black Lightning. Aquaman brings the forces of Atlantis into play to stop the terrestrial wars, and Aztec sacrifices himself to buy Superman some time against Mageddon.
- With the help of Glimmer, Animal Man's plan is put into action, giving everyone on Earth temporary super-powers in order to fight against the war bringer. Mageddon defeated, Metron, Barda and Orion return to New Genesis, and the heroes of the JLA begin reconstruction of the watchtower, only to be interrupted by an emergency concerning Doctor Destiny.
