HISTORY
Led by General Wade Eiling, the Ultramarine Corps were a U.S. government experiment with the purpose to create a team of super-beings able to outpower even the JLA. However, the subjects gained their powers at the cost of their humanity. The original members included: Flow, a creature of living water, 4-D, a woman who can shift the number of dimensions she appears in, Pulse 8, in control of the "fundamental forces of the universe", and Warmaker One, whose body phased out of reality and had to be contained by a high-tech suit.
At first fighting the JLA on Wade Eiling's orders, they later realized that their leader was insane and sided with the JLA against him. Vowing to never again get used by corrupt leaders, the Ultramarines founded the sovereign nation of Superbia, that hovers above the ruins of what was once the city of Montevideo. After declaring total independence of any other nation, they recruited other heroes to their ranks. They now include: Vixen, Jack O'Lantern III, Knight II, Squire III, and the Japanese hero Goraiko. Most of the Ultramarines have not been seen since, but Vixen and 4-D recently helped Wonder Woman battle Circe and her hordes of female super-villains.
