HISTORY
Circe is an immortal witch, who made a deal with Hecate, goddess of sorcery. In exchange for her soul, Circe was given great magical power. Circe, while in exile on the island Aeaea, perfected the ability to transform humans into an animal of her choosing. Circe then moved to Themyscira, where she gained a hatred of the peace-loving Amazons. She had her servant Ariadne kill Hippolyta's sister Antiope. Centuries later, after Circe returned to Aeaea, Diana became the Amazon ambassador to 'Man's World'. This upset Circe and she attempted to kill Wonder Woman. She instead turned her into clay and then started a war between the Greek and Roman pantheons. She was seemingly killed (and Diana was restored), but returned to begin a civil war between the Bana Mighdall and Themysciran tribes of Amazons.
Still not content, she posed as Donna Milton and attacked Wonder Woman in her personal life, also giving birth to a young daughter Lyta, fathered by the war god Ares. Circe regained her soul, only to sell it to the Demon Neron, for enough power to kill Wonder Woman. After joining Lex Luthor's Injustice Society, Circe transformed all of Earth's male population into animals. She then attempted to take over Earth with a coalition of Female Villains. She was defeated by Wonder Woman and all of Earth's female super heroes.
Circe was incarcerated on the Isle of Reformation on Themyscira, surrounded by her one weakness, the herb moley. She was rescued from here by the gorgons who used her to resurrect their long-dead sister Medousa. Once Medousa was killed by Wonder Woman, Circe attempted to take back her daughter from the Amazons who were looking after her on Themyscira. However, Ares chose to take their daughter Lyta himself, and the strange three-person family disappeared together.
