HISTORY

Scott Sawyer, a U.S. Army Officer, was transformed into the super-human Warmaker One by General Wade Eiling. Outfitted with an incredible battlesuit, Sawyer and his team of similarly-fated colleagues, the Ultramarines, were pitted against the JLA and almost defeated them before Eiling revealed his true agenda – to have the Ultramarines retrieve the body of the indestructible Shaggy Man, so that Eiling could transfer his mind into it. After the JLA had defeated Eiling, the Ultramarines chose to continue their heroic career as the Ultramarine Corps. Taking refuge in the flying city of Superbia, they would never again let any government give them orders. After an encounter with Gorilla Grodd and the Nebula Man, Warmaker One and several other Ultramarines entered a crime-ridden Earth in a micro-universe, where they became its first super-heroes.
