Synopsis: - The return of Doctor Fate seems to turn the tide of battle against Mordru, as their mystical battle plays havoc with reality. However, Mordru is able to siphon much of the power which the new Fate throws at him, and dons the helm of Nabu, but instead of gaining Fate's power as he had hoped, he is rather absorbed by the amulet, since he was not the one destined to wield the power. This person is Hector Hall, son of the original Hawkman and Hawkgirl and a former hero himself, who has led a number of lives. He will be guided in his new role by the spirit of Kent Nelson.
- Returning to the 'real' world, Sand suggest that the Justice Society reform, and the others agree. Hippolyta agrees to act as a reserve member, as she has to devote herself to ruling Themyscira, home of her Amazon race. Sentinel suggests that Sand should lead the new team, just as Sand himself suddenly dissolves into a pile of sand.
