HISTORY

In Greek mythology, the daughter of King Minos and lover of the heroic Theseus. Ariadne assisted Theseus in defeating the monstrous Minotaur, and they were married shortly afterwards. However, after having two children with her, Theseus deserted Ariadne. When Theseus later re-married the Amazon Antiope, Ariadne got insanely jealous. She killed her rival, while Theseus' son Menallipus framed Antiope's own daughter Phthia for the murder. When her treachery was revealed, Ariadne perished, seemingly forever. However, she was later reborn with help from the evil sorceress Circe, in the body of the Amazon Magala (Mala). Recently, she ignited a civil war between the Themyscirans and the Bana-Mighdall Amazons on Paradise Island. She was killed in battle by Fury (I), possibly gone forever this time.
