HISTORY

Argo City was founded by Val-El, the great seafarer Krypton's Age of Exploration. The City itself was named for Ar-Go, the captain of the sailing ship Val-3 which was sunk by a pryligu.

Centuries ago, the people of Argo City made the mistake of creating the Machine-King. This massive computer meant to aid Argo City sought instead to enslave with a small army of Machine-Police. It was ultimately defeated by the populace and its remains were kept as a monument. <ref>{{|Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #69}}</ref.
