HISTORY
Plotting the conquest of the planet Pharma, Thraxon the Powerful had to first deal with its resident Green Lantern, Davo Yull. To do this, Thraxon established mental control over Davo Yull's wife, forcing her to show him where the Green Lantern kept his invisible power battery. Once he knew the frequency of the power battery and the power ring, he ordered Yull's wife to forget all that had occurred. Using this knowledge, Thraxon created the pulsator, a device that could drain the power rings of any Green Lanterns in the vicinity.
Thraxon's base of operations was an island in the Misty Sea, well protected from any attack. Investigating ground quakes originating in the Misty Sea, Davo Yull came into range of the pulsator and fell from the sky. The Green Lantern of Pharma was left powerless, and would be no threat to the conqueror. Davo Yull was unable to warn his people of the coming threat. Thraxon planned to use the pulsator to force the people of Pharma to accept him as "Diktor," or absolute ruler.
After Davo Yull failed to report to his masters, the Guardians of the Universe, Green Lantern of Earth Hal Jordan was sent to locate the missing ring wielder. Davo Yull was found by Jordan, but the Pharman Green Lantern had been weakened by several days without food or water. With Yull's warning, Jordan was prepared to deal with the power draining weapon.
Thraxon did not count on an opponent using a Pharman sea creature as a shield. Jordan used the sea creature to smash through Thraxon's stronghold and destroy the pulsator. Thraxon engaged the Green Lantern of Earth in hand-to-hand combat but picked up a metal weapon when saw he could not break the emerald gladiator as easily as he thought. Jordan slammed into Thraxon, sending the would-be conqueror into a dangling power line. The shock took Thraxon out of the fight. Thraxon has not been heard of since. - Green_Lantern Vol. 2 #50/2

GLCWP NOTE
: It seems there was a lettering mistake in the title. Though referred to as "Thraxton" in the title, the villain of Pharma is referred to as "Thraxon" throughout the story.
