HISTORY
The villain called Azure believes herself to be an incarnation of the Aztec god Huitzilopochtli. Originally a homeless teenager, Azure came into possession of a blue pin (in fake Aztec style) worn by Marie Granger. When wearing it, the girl transformed into a powerful superhuman who claimed to be Huitzilopochtli, goddess of rebirth (not caring that Huitzilopochtli was in fact a male war god).
In need of human sacrifice to increase her power, she threatened the people of Washington, DC., but was defeated by the superheroes Hawk and Dove (II) who broke the pin that triggered her powers.
During the so-called War of the Gods, the real Huitzilopocthli returned and learned that Azure had usurped his title. Intent on killing her, the god found himself defeated by Azure, who absorbed his energies and seemingly destroyed him. However, it seems that she later regretted her actions since she did Huitzilopochtli's bidding at the end of the War.
Azure was last seen as part of Circe's army of female super-villains.
