HISTORY
Tharr is an almost uninhabitable hot and dry world, the sole planet in orbit of its giant star. In the late 20th/early 21st century, it stood as a "buffer world" between Earth and the Dominion to warn against another invasion. It is said the legendary hero Valor brought humans who had been experimented on by the Dominators to populate Tharr. These former test subjects had the ability to generate and project intense cold and ice, a useful augmentation on their new arid home.
The best known population center is Last Chance. Most of the buildings on Tharr are constructed underground with cooling towers to chill and circulate the outside air.
Tharr's best known native is Polar Boy who originally created the Legion of Substitute Heroes. Polar Boy later became a full-fledged member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
