OVERVIEW
An alien slave turned fugitive, more than willing to sacrifice others to further his ambitions.
HISTORY
- Little is known of Taupin's backstory, a slave yoked to the systems of a starship that fed on the brain electricity of sentient beings. Taupin's starship was in embroiled in battle with Green Lantern Gala De, and though it cost the life of the ring wielder, another starship opened fire and killed all but Taupin. Now freed from slavery, he quickly escaped to Earth.
- In Star City, Taupin recruited volunteers under the guise of a journey to the stars. Measuring them for the optimal brain energy, Taupin did not explain they would be enslaved just as he had been. Their only release would be death.
- A suspicious Green Arrow investigated as Dinah Lance had been one of the volunteers. The Emerald Archer was able to foil Taupin's plans, but the alien escaped to Earth requesting sanctuary.
- Taupin's pursuer, Lucan Fleet Commander Pi X Square soon arrived in Earth orbit, seizing the Star City abductees for ransom to extradite Taupin. While the United Nations deliberate, Green Arrow and Earth's Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, were able to defeat the Lucan and free the hostages Commander Pi X Square retreated to deep space. While the United Nations ultimately decided to allow Taupin's extradition in exchange for the hostages, it was a moot point as they were already free and their captor was long gone.
- Taupin's further exploits have yet to be revealed.
