- Superman travels back upon his own timeline, to the day he first applied for a job at the Daily Planet. Under the rules of time travel in the Pre-Crisis multiverse he should only appear as a phantom due to his prior existence in the timeline. Therefore, he has entered, if not created, an alternate timeline.
- Superman travels from 1960 to at least 1953, if not earlier. Based on Clark Kent's comments, it is at most 5 years after he was Superboy.
