HISTORY

Wearing a yellow insect-suit and using the Bug-Eyed Bandit's techniques of building micro-weapons in the form of robotic insects, the villain called the Sting was a menace to the Atom (II) before he was shrunk down to six inches tall. Sting joined the equally shrunken rogue CIA agents known as the Micro/Squad, but never felt that he fit in as a member. The Atom offered Sting a chance to redeem himself by allowing the hero to take to take his place and infiltrate the team. Sting agreed, after which he was restored to full height and entered the Witness Protection Program.
