HISTORY
Before becoming the Red Lantern known as Skorch, she was maimed and rejected by a mate, an event that presumably drew a red power ring to her.
A powerful cry of pain and rage emanating from Arhtky in Sector 2976 drew the Red Lantern Corps to the planet. There, they discovered a young woman named Taya, who had been hunted by men. Her only ally, another woman, had been betrayed by her husband and was killed while trying to protect Taya. The Red Lanterns quickly dispatched the attackers, leaving the deceased woman's husband to face Skorch's justice. Skorch's touch, an acid bath, swiftly dissolved him.
Moments thereafter, they were assaulted by the Third Army. These soulless constructs tore off Skorch's arm, separating her from her power ring and initiating her conversion into one of them. The only remnant of Skorch that remained recognizable were her eyes. Atrocitus identified this as the Third Army's weakness and removed Skorch's eyes, effectively ending the life of the former Red Lantern.[1]
POWERS AND WEAPONS
As a Red Lantern, Skorch wielded a red power ring giving him her capability of flight, survival in space and the ability to spew a napalm-like red plasma from her mouth, which incinerates all it touches.
Additionally, Skorch had a unique acid touch, seemingly more powerful than the Red Lantern plasma.
