Synopsis:
In Kyoto, John tries to forget the horrible events of his life as he agrees to be the student of Master Kobo – a factor in this is possibly the fact that he has fallen in love with Yuko. Master Kobo teaches John many valuable lessons and also tells John the story of Mizoguchi Kenji. Mizoguchi was a former student of Kobo who got absorbed by the dark aspects of his art and went insane. Since then, he had been murdering owners of great tattoo art, stolen their skin, and stuffed them for his own private collection. When last heard of, Mizoguchi had involved himself with the Yakuza clan called the Red Mist Gang. Startled by the story, John does not ask more about Mizoguchi Kenji. Later, Yuko goes to visit her father, who we see is Mizoguchi Kenji himself. Not only that, but we also learn that Mizoguchi has associated himself with no less than Abel Tarrant – the Tattooed Man.
