HISTORY

John Zero was a commander of the DDI, a governmental agency intent on capturing the Swamp Thing. After failing a mission, he was targeted for execution by DDI Director Dwight Wicker. However, Zero survived the shooting, but lost his right hand.

The agents of a rival government agency called the Colossus, offered Zero a new job and a bionic sword-arm. As Sabre, the improved Zero worked with Thrudvang the Earth-Master to fetch the Swamp Thing for Colossus. He was badly injured in battle and the Colossus took him into custody. Sabre has not been seen since.
