HISTORY
Frederick Frankenstein, the latest in a long family tradition of talented scientists, felt an enormous pressure to become a success. Using a temporal phase shifter invented by his uncle, Hal Legion, he split himself into several duplicates to get the work done more effectively. The machine triggered his latent meta-gene, giving him the ability to duplicate without technical aid, but also disfigured his face so that he resembled a human skeleton.
Finally snapping under the stress, he began a life of crime calling himself Riot. His thefts attracted the attention of Superman, who had difficulty defeating the ever-multiplying villain. Riot has since encountered Superman alone and as a member of the Superman Revenge Squad. He has also battled the Metropolis S.C.U., Nightwing (II) and Supergirl.
