HISTORY

A demon and ruler of his own corner of Hell. Originally the angel Israfel, the angel with the sweetest voice in Heaven. Revolting against the Presence, Israfel tore out his heart and strung a lyre with its meat - becoming Raum, one of the fallen. For eons, Raum and his assistant Semayaza - who plays the lyre - have inspired humans to commit suicide, stealing their hopes and their souls in the process. Raum recently fought the Doom Patrol, and with the help of Semayaza's treachery, was temporarily defeated.

A possible future version of Raum, appearing as a man-shaped crow, eventually encountered an adult version of Tim Hunter.
