HISTORY

Hal Jordan and Abin Sur

In the universe containing Earth 3, Abin Sur was an alien cursed to wear the Ring of Volthoom. He had crashed on Earth 3 and was mortally wounded. The ring sought out a new wielder in the form of Hal Jordan. Desperate to be rid of Volthoom, he lied to Jordan of the wonders of the ring, even pleaded with the human to take it. Jordan ultimately accepted the ring, finally freeing the alien of the curse. Abin Sur died shortly thereafter.

It is presumed that Abin Sur exists in some spirit form within the ring itself as countless other have been.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

As Power Ring, Abin Sur could (depending on the control of Volthoom) create hard light constructs and had the ability to fly. The full range of powers had not been explored.
