HISTORY
The creator of the Orange Lantern Central Power Battery is currently unknown, but it is believed to have been in existences since at least the time of Krona as the renegade Maltusian had its location noted on an ancient map. The battery was found by a trio of thieves in an underground palace on the planet Okaara in the Vega System. Within the orange battery resides Ophidian, the avarice entity which speaks to the possessor of the battery, urging the possessor to constantly take more and more.
Larfleeze of Ogatoo fought the Guardians of the Universe, their Manhunters and his former partners in crime for possession of the one-of-a-kind object. The Guardians had made a pact with Larfleeze, noninterference so long as the orange light remained within the Vega system. Larfleeze has held onto it for billions of years since. Only recently has that ownership been jeopardized. Green Lantern Vol. 4 #41
The orange Cental Power Battery is not a towering structure like the Central Power Batteries representing the other lights of the emotional spectrum. It can be easily carried by one being of average humaoid proportions. There are no other individual batteries.
The orange battery can be used to charge the Orange Lantern power rings. As Larfleeze had the only orange ring for billions of years and thus has stored the power, it does not seem the recharge is truly needed. The orange light easily fuels the power ring-created Orange Lantern Corps.
