HISTORY
Self-described as one of the most famous trial lawyers in the country, Nicholas D. Redik swept into Central City upon learning of the murder trial of the Flash. Offering his services for free, Redik was surprised to learn the Flash had selected a "small town" attorney, Peter Farley. Neither Redik or Farley knew that the Flash was Barry Allen, a college friend of Farley's.
Redik needed the publicity of the Flash's case to help attract the rich clients he had not had for years. His personal finances were in ruins due to lack of big money cases, high alimony and bad investments. Redik was so desperate he hired others to kill any other attorneys that might stand in his way.
When a bomb exploded in Farley's office, the attorney had to drop the case, but Farley's partner, Cecile Horton took up the Flash's defense. Redik's killers tried again, but Horton also survived. The Flash was able to capture the would-be killers and eventually discovered Redik behind the bombings.
Redik attempted to take his own life, once by gun and immediately after by jumping out a window, but was saved by the Flash. The speedster, however, was unable to save Redik from the heart attack which finally ended the attorney's life.
