OVERVIEW

Mother Soul is the leader of the League of Lazarus, which worship the Lazarus Demon. Once every 100 years she arranges a death tournament on Lazarus Island, where each fighter gets three fights. Resurrected after the first two, the final time will be fatal.

HISTORY

Rúh al Ghul is the mother of Ra's al Ghul. Some time after her death Ra's al Ghul submerged her body into a Lazarus Pit, returning her to life. As she was brought back to life from the pit, she had a vision of the Lazarus Demon which led her to believe that the demon should be freed so that the world could be purged and start anew.

After creating the League of Shadows and the League of Assassins, Ra's assembled the League of Lazarus and tasked it with searching for locations where Lazarus Pits could be created.

In the following years Rúh al Ghul's faith in the demon grew and eventually many of Ra's followers would follow Rúh's gospel and the she would take control of the League of Lazarus. This eventually led to a war between the Leagues of Shadows and Assassins and Rúh's League of Lazarus on the island that would later be known as Lazarus Island, with the winner gaining control of the worlds' Lazarus Pits. Rúh and her league lost and Ra's banished them to the island. While Ra's was a man of science he used magic to bind Túh to the island, as he could not bring himself to kill his own mother.

Over time Rúh would become known as Mother Soul and since she was not able to leave the island, she and her priests devised of a death tournament to be held every 100 years where the victor would be fed to the Lazarus Pit, where the magic in the pit would consume them and help bring the Lazarus Demon closer to resurrection.
