NOTE
An sentient species possessing advanced technology and space travel capabilities, the G'nesh were nonetheless helpless against the "angry fire god" who plagued their planet. When two heroes came to their world in search of the "Omega Option" one of the G'nesh, Captain Gaerra, offered the item to them in exchange for help. The heroes were a Manhunter turned Green Lantern, G.L. 7177 b and Firestorm. During the next attack, the heroes learned the fire god was actually Martin Stein, a fire elemental from Earth and a former partner with Ron Raymond in the Firestorm matrix. Stein had been brought to his senses by Raymond.
Realizing the damage he had done, Stein stayed on with the G'nesh to repair their world. Some time after, the imperialist Thanagarians somehow neutralized Stein and attacked the G'nesh. The population was obliterated. Once he was free from captivity, Stein returned to the stars. - Firestorm Vol. 3 #21
