Murray Boltinoff and Bruno Premiani break the fourth wall by talking to the reader and the Doom Patrol. The editor of the Doom Patrol, Boltinoff "leaves it up to the readers" as to the fate of the Doom Patrol who are apparently killed in this issue.
Though the original members of the Doom Patrol would eventually return individually, Rita Farr would remain "dead" for 36 years beore her return.
This is the last issue of original material for Doom Patrol Vol. 1. The series continued briefly starting in February 1973, but these were four issues of reprinted material.
