HISTORY

Ayrn, the Underlord is the leader of a subterranean race variously known as the Middle-Earthers or the Under-Men. Years ago, long concerned with the surface world's assaults on their natural resources, Ayrn allied himself with the Injustice Society and agreed to kill members of the Justice Society of America in exchange for the Injustice Society's diversion of world oil supplies back into the Underlord's realm. Discovering a suspicious pit at an oil well in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, Power Girl led the JSA into battle with the Underlord's forces and defeated Ayrn in personal combat.

More recently, Ayrn and his Under-Men allegedly threatened one of Rydertech's mining plants in Canada, but it was discovered to be a set-up made by the villainous Rydertech employee Carly Burdock, who wanted a diversion from her own illegal business. Striker Z of the Power Company solved the situation, after which Ayrn and his people were left in peace.
