Comment(s):

The speed of spaceships in Tommy Tomorrow's world is mentioned, with Tommy commenting on the Planeteers' 21st Century top speed of 10,000 miles per second. In comparison, the 22nd Century 20,000 miles per second is a posted speed limit, implying faster speeds are possible. This is a small fraction of light speed which is 186,282 miles per second.
The 22nd Century Super-Planeteers have the ability to travel through the 4th dimension, making a trip from Earth to Ganymede (400 million miles - in the story) take 10 seconds, about four times faster than the speed of light. In Tommy's 21st Century the trip would take hours.
