Two days pass in between pages 13 and 14. As issues 1048 to 1050 only have this break in the story this storyline must take place after the events of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths.

This issue is labelled as "Kal-El Returns, Part 3" but since it has to take place after Dark Crisis, it is most likely that it takes place after part 4 in Superman: Son of Kal-El #17 in which Superman spends some time with his son after his return from Warworld.
