HISTORY

The A is a cosmic entity whose existence depends on the laws of probability. His sole purpose is gambling. A travels between realms in search for power. After finding a suitable world, he challenges the inhabitants in a game traditionally played there. The inhabitants must choose between playing along and total obliteration. If the A wins, he grows stronger, absorbing energy from the world. If he loses, he loses power. However, A never loses. Many are the civilisations that lie devastated after the A's perversion of their innocent childhood games. To gain full power, the A must play accordingly to the rules. To make sure that both sides do, he has a female assistant who functions as referee.

Recently, the A challenged the world of Zrfff in the 5th dimension. Even the powerful Zrfffans were no match for the A, so the imp Mxyzptlk had to accept the challenge. To his help, he was permitted a champion of any world. Mxyzptlk wanted Superman, but instead ended up with an alternate version of Bizarro. This proved to be a stroke of luck since Bizarro's skewed logic effectively disturbed the A's probability powers. Mxyzptlk won the conquest. The A had never experienced defeat before and furiously threatened to destroy Zrfff. But in his weakened state, he was attacked by Bizarro. The A, his assistant, and Bizarro all ended up trapped inside a dimensional stasis pocket, seemingly for all eternity.
