HISTORY

Ys is an ancient English city, through which one can access "the Other Side of the World", the magic dimension that is the home of the villainous Warlock of Ys (who consequently is not from Ys, confusingly enough). The city was built in the late fifth century by the good king Gradlon as a gift to his daughter Dahut, an evil woman who had a love relation with Lucifer himself.

In recent times, Zatara, Zatanna, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, and the Justice League of America have all accessed the otherdimensional world through the city of Ys.
