HISTORY
The Wildebeest Society was an organization with the goal of making vast fortunes through illegal methods. Their leader originally permitted only one member to be seen in public at one time, creating the illusion that there was only one Wildebeest. They were repeatedly opposed by the New Titans. Later, a new leader took control of the Society, after which they began a series of genetic "host body" experiments (Pantha and the Baby Wildebeest are results of these). Shortly thereafter, several Titans were captured or killed by the Society. The remaining Titans and their allies tracked them down, and were shocked to learn that the Wildebeest leader was one of their own - Jericho. Possessed by the tainted souls of Azarath, Jericho now sought to acquire superhuman beings as vessels for these souls, and had used the Society as a front to kidnap the Titans. The Titans eventually thwarted their plan, and Jericho was seemingly killed by his father, Deathstroke. After this bitter-sweet victory, the Wildebeest Society was no more.
Recently, a new Wildebeest Society appeared on the criminal scene, consisting of artificially-created beasts fashioned by Goth and the Contessa, who had used "blueprints" from the original Society's experiments. Some of them are still running around without guidance.
