HISTORY

Wilde's West Ranch and Music and Culture Emporium was created by Mr. Graves, a native of London turned Texas cattle rancher. While in Austin, Texas, Mr. Graves met Oscar Wilde and was so taken by his words, Graves decided to not only raise cattle but to raise art for art's sake.

Deeded land by the state of Texas, Graves built the ranch on the former site of the late Errol Autumn's failed farm. For thirty-five dollars a week plus bed and board, the requisite duties of a cowboy were expected, but an employee must also produce music and poetry. For the pay offered, many did, though none of it was any good.

Unfortunately, when the land was owned by Errol Autumn, the failed farmer had unearthed a passageway to a hostile ancient subterranean species dubbed "the Worms." These creatures attacked the surface, killing many people and livestock in the ranch and its environs.

The Worms were once more driven back, at a high cost in lives of the Wilde West Boys and the worms, by Jonah Hex, Billy the Kid, Hildy and Mr. Graves. Wilde's West Ranch was destroyed in the firefight. - Jonah Hex: Riders of the Worm and Such #3-- #5
