OVERVIEW
On a trip to the United States, Gaynor was disturbed by the fact that poor Mexicans were still facing abuse at the hands of the legal system. After learning the legend of his possible ancestor, Don Fernando Suarez, the first Whip, Gaynor assumed the role of the third Whip (El Castigo) to give the people hope. He was an active mystery-man throughout the 1940s, and joined the All-Star Squadron in 1942.
