HISTORY

The inhabitants of the planet Ventura live solely for the thrill of gambling. It is ruled by the powerful Rokk and Sorban, who have encountered Superman and Batman several times. In recent years, Ventura's citizens have realized that their lifestyle has a certain appeal to other races as well, and the planet has now evolved into an intergalactic "Las Vegas". When last seen, Ventura was among the hundreds of planets collected by the "Quantum Mechanics" and saved by the JLA.

[Note: An obviously very "Silver Age" invention, the planet Ventura is still canon as of JLA: Heaven's Ladder. Apart from being the home planet of Superman/Batman foes Rokk and Sorban, it was also a popular vacation planet in pre-Crisis LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES stories.]
