OVERVIEW
Thalia is the Greek Muse of Comedy. She recently had a run-in with Wonder Woman after hatching a plot to make people happy through the use of amnesia drugs.
HISTORY
Thalia (”good cheer”) is the Greek Muse of Comedy. The Muses were the Greek goddesses of poetry and art, the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, and the companions of Phoebos Apollo.
In modern times, Thalia used cyclopes as drug dealers, for a scheme where she supplied the people of Boston with the amnesia drug Lethe (named after the river of forgetfulness in Hades). Her intent was to liberate people from the worries and troubles of their everyday tragic lives and make them happy. After a run-in with Wonder Woman, Thalia ultimately withdrew to reconsider her methods. [Wonder Woman Annual Vol. 2 #7 (1998)]
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Besides her power to inspire people artistically, Thalia seems to wield some sort of lightning or energy power, which may perhaps be attributed to her being the daughter of Zeus, the master of the thunderbolt. Her attribute is the comic mask, but it is not known whether the mask she wears bestows any special powers upon her or not. Her flaming eyes may or may not be attributed to the mask.
