HISTORY

Flying Stag was the greatest warrior and hunter of the Native American Wolf Clan in the 16th century. After experiencing a vision where the Great Spirit Manitou promised him a heroic future as a Chief above Chiefs, Flying Stag found a strange meteor that he fashioned into an amulet. Gaining great super-powers from the item, Flying Stag would now be forever known as Saganowahna - the Super-Chief. Super-Chief had a long and heroic career in the Old West. He had a girlfriend named White Fawn and a sidekick in her young brother Lightfooot.

Apparently, Super-Chief's amulet made him live at least as long as to the late 19th century, when he was in the custody of Bat Lash and Johnny Thunder. Super-Chief's amulet was later used by Super-Chief II.

BLACK LANTERN: SUPER-CHIEF

During the event known as Blackest Night a black ring placed itself upon his corpse, downloaded all of his memories and created a duplicate of his body that rose from the "grave" as a member of the Black Lantern Corps. -Weird Western Tales #71
