HISTORY

Years ago, Steve "Shotgun" Smith was allegedly "the toughest cop in Gotham" (this was before Harvey Bullock joined the GCPD), a man with rough edges but a good heart. Smith was eventually accused of corruption and had to leave the force, but returned to public service as a county sheriff. Smith now has as his partner a young police officer partner Cissy Chambers. They have cooperated with Robin (III) on a couple of occasions. "Shotgun" is a widow and father of a teenage daughter named Maryanne.
