OVERVIEW
Sherlock Holmes is one of the greatest detectives in history. Most of his adventures in the 19th century along with his friend Dr. John Watson, sometimes encountering his arch enemy Professor Moriarty, have been chronicled by the writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He has also encountered Eclipso.
On a case in modern day-London, Batman, Robin, the Elongated Man, Slam Bradley met a man who was allegedly Sherlock Holmes himself. Holmes attributed his longevity to a diet of royal jelly and the athmosphere of Tibet, where he now lives.
HISTORY
Sherlock Holmes is one of, if not the greatest detective in history. In 19th century London, during the Victorian era, Holmes ran a private detective agency from the address 221B Baker Street. Using deduction, observation and forensic science, Sherlock Holmes solved even the most hopeless of cases and even upstaged the Scotland Yard time and time again. Holmes was an eccentric who lived for his work – at times when he had no cases to stimulate him, we would sometimes use cocaine as a substitute.
In his cases, he was often accompanied by his old friend Dr. John Watson, who also chronicled these events. Watson's notes were probably used as the basis for the popular Sherlock Holmes novels later written by Sir Conan Doyle. Throughout the years, Holmes solved many mysteries, but a handful of them stand out from the rest.
In the 1886 case known as "The Adventure of the Red Leech", Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson exposed a plot to kill Queen Victoria. Holmes suspected that the plot had been hatched by a criminal mastermind to controlled the London underworld, the man who would eventually become Holmes' arch enemy, Professor James Moriarty.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Sherlock Holmes is skilled at hand-to-hand combat. He is an accomplished boxer and has mastered the martial art known as baritsu (a Japanese type of wrestling).
But his greatest talent is his intellect. Holmes has used his powers of observation and deduction with great success over the years, drawing conclusions and forming hypotheses from the most insignificant observations and clues. He is also a pioneer in forensic science.
