HISTORY

In 2nd century Ireland, a man was killed by hanging, then returned as an Earth Elemental whom god-fearing men christened Saint Columba. The elemental later set down with the Parliament of Trees in Brazil.

In recent years, Saint Columba was part of a Committee of four Elementals who attempted to create the successor of the Swamp Thing, by planting the free-floating Elemental spirit called the Sprout in a new Elemental body. However, Swamp Thing sabotaged their plan, which resulted in the essences of the four Committee members inhabiting the host body. Together they became the confused Elemental called Wild Thing.

When Wild Thing was destroyed, the Committee members' essences were scattered through space. Saint Columba rooted in a distant planet with heavy gravity and a red sun (possibly Daxam). Since he was not on Earth when the rest of the Parliament was destroyed by the Word (I), he is possibly still alive.
