OVERVIEW

A Gotham City policeman in the 1930s and 40s, Richard A. Drake's greatest dream was for his daughter Dinah to walk in his footsteps. However, those were different times, and Dinah flunked because of her sex. Shortly thereafter, Richard Drake died from a heart attack, and Dinah honored his memory by becoming a crimefighter - the female vigilante called Black Canary (I).
