HISTORY

Rayn Kral is a Thanagarian wingman, partnered with Katar Hol, known on Earth as the hero Hawkman. Their homeworld was secretly manipulated into conflict with the planet Rann by the villain Despero, with Hawkman and Adam Strange becoming wanted men. Despite this, Kral remained loyal to his partner, aiding Hawkman.

As Despero's plans were reaching fruition, he was opposed by Thanagar's Green Lantern, Isamot Kol. The emerald warrior was badly injured by Despero as the power ring sought out Rayn Kral to take his place as the Green Lantern of Thanagar.
