HISTORY

Pseudoderm was invented by scientists Professor Aristotle Rodor and Dr. Arby Twain as an artificial skin that could bond to wounded skin for medical and cosmetic purposes. However, the formula was flawed and proved toxic when applied to open wounds. The two men agreed to abandon the project, but Rodor learned that Twain was attempting to sell it to Third World Nations. Rodor alerted his friend and former student, shotgun reporter Vic Sage, who went after Twain and donned a mask of Pseudoderm to become the "faceless" vigilante called the Question. The mask is applied to and removed from Sage's skin with the help of a special gas. Although the mask conceals all of his facial features, Sage can see, hear, and breath through it as if it didn't exist. The Pseudoderm formula was at one point stolen by government agent John Dandy who used a Pseudoderm mask as the shapeshifting Yankee Doodle – the spy with 1,000 faces.
