HISTORY
In the universe before, the Orange Lightsmiths of Gluttony wielded their power alongside other Lightsmiths to support entire civilizations with the light they believed was without limit.
One renowned scientist questioned the potential cost to reality. He was ridiculed and considered a Relic hungering for the ancient times before the light was harnessed for the good of all. Relic would search the universe and collect evidence needed to prove his concerns were warranted.
The event known as "The Dimming" was the first warning that Relic had Ben correct. At this point, the damage had been done and the universe fell into the War of Dwindling Light. The factions which had shared so much were now mortal enemies.[1]
While the Lightsmiths fought among themselves, Light Pirates sought to take what each faction coveted. The Lightsmiths were captured, stripped of their staves experimented on and their lives were taken. The unforeseen arrival of the Green Lantern Corps[2] and their heroic action led to the Lightsmiths working together once more, but they were by no means grateful for their rescue. The Orange Lightsmiths joined with the rest of the spectrum to attack the Green Lanterns and in a failed attempt to seize the Lanterns' headquarters, the living planet Mogo.[3] The attack was a failure and the Lightsmiths were run off.[4]
The Orange Lightsmiths of Gluttony would once more battle the other Lightsmiths, as they ultimately all died out. Their universe collapsed with Relic as the sole survivor.[5]
