HISTORY
His homeworld suffering an attack by the armies of Lady Styx, Opto309v led his forces in a counter attack which allowed thousands of civilians to freedom. Opto309v earned his power ring during the assault and became one of the two Green Lanterns of Space Sector 2260.
Sometime later, Opto309v assisted Mogo, the planetform Green Lantern of neighboring Space Sector 2261, in the search and rescue of the star-lost heroes Adam Strange of Earth and Starfire of Tamaran. Opto3o9v located their space craft and Mogo caught it on his surface.
For reasons not explained, it took ten weeks for Opto309v and Mogo to bring Adam Strange and Starfire to Rann where they met with John Stewart. While Starfire left for personal reasons to Earth, the Green Lanterns stayed with Strange until he recovered. The Guardians of the Universe wanted to know what Adam Strange saw out in space as related to the 52, and had also been searching for the so-called Emerald Eye of Ekron, a prototype will-powered green plasma weapon from the early days of Oan technology. It had been missing for centuries before being wielded by the late Green Lantern of Vengar , only to be taken by Lobo, its current owner. Opto309v did not have much time to reflect on the implications, since he and John Stewart were needed to protect Rann from a trio of flame creatures.
Presumably Opto309v battled in the Sinestro Corps War, but details of his service are not yet available.
Opto309v worked with John Stewart once more during the investigation of the death of the New God Orion. It has yet to be explained why Opto309v had been on Earth when the planet had been sealed off by the Guardians of the Universe and the Alpha-Lanterns. Opto309v was with the Alpha-Lanterns when they apprehended Hal Jordan for the murder of Orion, and attempted murder of John Stewart.
Now that Earth has fallen to the gods of Apokolips and the anti-life equation, it appears Lantern Opto309v has been killed by the newly re-incarnated Kalibak. His right arm was torn off by the bestial son of Darkseid.
