HISTORY
The Office of Strategic Service was a U.S. government-sanctioned espionage agency during World War II. Coordinated by the man known only as Control, the O.S.S. included many agents, among them Control's wife Dina, as well as several codenamed men and women such as Falcon, Shadow, Springer, Mongoose, Phoenix, Raven, Bluejay, Dove, Gull, Sorcerer, Lark, and Eagle. Other more well-known heroes also joined the agency during the war, like Kana, the Shadow Warrior, Iron Munro, Phantom Lady (I), Minute Man (II), the King, Captain X and Speed Saunders. Chuck Sirianni of the Blackhawks served as liaison between the two teams. After the end of the War, President Truman dissoluted the O.S.S. and replaced it with the C.I.A., and briefly, the O.S.O. In 1951, Truman created Task Force X (I), whose domestic branch, the Argent, consisted mainly of former O.S.S. agents under the leadership of Control.
