HISTORY

Nergal is the ancient Mesopotamian God of Death and Famine, married to his sister Ereshkigal. Banished to the netherworld Kurnugi, he has made recent attempts to kill the new Istar and her allies the JLA. Nergal was seemingly killed during his latest attempt to invade Earth.

NOTE: Not to be confused with Nergal, a demon of Hell.
