HISTORY
In 1940, Tom Corbett, a member of the French Foreign Legion, was the only survivor of a cruel attack on the savage Mbangi tribe in the middle of the desert. When he had almost died from the heat and thirst, Corbett found a strange pool from which glowing vapors ensued. Drinking from the pool, Corbett immediately gained "neonic" super-powers, including the ability to fly, glow and shoot powerful bolts of energy from his hands. As "Neon the Unknown", Corbett successfully fought crime and Nazis for nearly two years.
On December 7, 1941, he and other heroes joined forces with Uncle Sam and his early version of the "Freedom Fighters" to stop the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Neon was seemingly killed in the battle, but in reality his spirit made its way back to the pool, entering it and reforming a body now totally alien.
Now totally divorced from humanity, Neon would not leave the Pool, even when all life on earth was threatened. The original Ray entered the Pool and acquired abilities similar to Neon's original incarnation.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Originally, Corbett was granted the powers of flight and could project "neonic energy" from bolts; now his humanity nearly totally gone, he has more power that has yet to be revealed.
