Synopsis: - Mr Montrose hijacks a plane to take him to his master, but the pilot is actually a disguised Martian Manhunter, and John Jones has made short work of his men. One of those uninjured attempts to do away with the Martian Manhunter, but his shots send the plane out of control and J'onn is barely able to avoid fatalities as it crashes to Earth. In the meantime, he has lifted Kanto's location from Montrose' brain, and sets off without Jones to find a way to this place.
- Later, the Martian Manhunter arrives at Jones' appartment, saying that Kanto is based in a tesseract (a fold in space), to which Barda has given him the key. They find themselves separated, in a vast maze. J'onn is in a maze of mirrors, surrounded by his various alter egos and trapped in one of them. Kanto then pursues him, killing his various identities as J'onn transfers his mind from one body to another seeking his true form. Jones, meanwhile, offers to deal with Kanto, revealing that he knows many secrets of the world's super-heroes. As Kanto moves towards Jones, J'onn takes the time to find his Martian Manhunter body.
- Jones has been losing control of his body and has tricked Kanto - he holds the assassin in a tight embrace as his body, due to the effects of Bzrk, becomes a living bomb. J'onn arrives too late to save either of them, though he expects Kanto will somehow survive. In tribute to his other half, who may even have grown a soul of his own, J'onn decides to phase out most of his identities to concentrate on that of John Jones. He will make that life work and be that much more of a man.
