HISTORY

An eminent biologist specialising in the study of bats, Kirk Langstrom longed to invent a serum which would enable the blind to mimic bats' natural sonar system. When he thought he had achieved success, Langstrom used himself as his first guinea pig, finding himself transformed into half-human/half-bat creature. Although this did give him the sonar ability he hoped for, it did also cause him to lose touch with his humanity. His wife Francine called Batman in for help, and an antidote was eventually discovered, Kirk then using the serum and antidote to do good as Man-Bat. He and Francine now have two children: Elizabeth and Aaron, the latter of whom has a man-bat form as his natural state.
